I am planning on taking my family to celebrate me leaving the military. I would have just left and will the corners cut off my ID card. I won't at this point have recieved my reservists or veterans card. Is my old ID card OK for proof?

    Bonjour, Chris!

Welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you stopped by! Celebrating life's milestones at Disney Destinations is one of my favorite pastimes (I have a drawer full of celebration buttons to prove it), so let's get right to your question!

Disneyland Paris does indeed honor servicemen and women with discounted theme park tickets. It's important to keep in mind, however, that these tickets are exclusively available for active or retired military personnel, and as such, require a government-issued proof of service. If you are celebrating your retirement from the military but don't yet have an identification card, a Cast Member helpfully shared that a recent pay or pension stub should suffice. However, she also clarified that veterans who are not retiring but rather stepping away from active service, unfortunately, do not qualify for the special offer.

If it turns out that your specific circumstances mean that you are ineligible for the ticket offer, all hope of saving on your vacation is not lost! As I was clarifying the specifics of eligibility for military personnel tickets, I was also informed that Disneyland Paris Hotel+Ticket Packages feature significantly reduced ticket prices. Immersing your family in the magic could be such a fun way to celebrate, and with so many fun Disney Hotels to choose from, there just might be one practically perfect for your taste...and your budget!

Before I go, I would be remiss if I didn't share that all of my family's best celebrations have taken place around a dining table. With this in mind, we never miss booking at least one special meal to mark our magical milestones. Whether it's breakfast shared with characters or a dinner surrounded by theming from your favorite Disney film, I encourage you to choose one meal and denote it as the celebration of your incredible achievement. I just know you'll look back on it fondly for years to come!

I hope this clears things up for you, Chris, and helps you prepare for your celebratory visit. If you need any additional assistance or clarification, feel free to stop back by. I'm always happy to help!
