I am planning on taking a Disney Cruise next summer with my twin daughters, who will be just under two years old. How would you recommend sleeping them, taking into account that they will be too young to safely use the convertible couch?

    Anchors Aweigh, Kaitlyn!

Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for sailing by with your question. How wonderful that your little ones will soon get to enjoy the magic of a Disney Cruise! Kaitlyn, my son's first Disney Cruise was at six months old, and my twins' first cruise was when they were 12 months old. So I absolutely understand sleeping needs for little ones on a cruise.

The best part of sailing to the great wide somewhere on a Disney Cruise is that Mickey thinks of everything when it comes to even the youngest Mouseketeers. You have a few options for sleeping arrangements for your twins.  When we sailed with our 3-year-old and twins, we requested a bed railing for my toddler and two Pack 'n' Plays for the twins. We were able to get both into our Stateroom, and when they were napping or sleeping, we pulled the curtain so they could sleep, but we could still hear them if they woke up.

You can request Pack 'n' Plays, a convertible crib, or bed railings, depending on what you think would work best with your little ones.  To do this, simply sign in to the "My Reservations" section on the Disney Cruise Line website, select "Special Requests," and fill out the Special Request form.

If you need a Diaper Genie, high chairs, or booster seats, these can also be requested. The ship has a few limited strollers available; however, if you have your own, it is better to bring it. The Staterooms are actually quite well thought out, and there is a lot of space under the bed. We stored our umbrella stroller under the bed as well as our suitcases, to free up room in the Stateroom.

Be sure to download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app so you don't miss the boat on all the fun things happening on the cruise. Here's a tip - if your little ones are too sleepy to stay up for the evening stage shows, they are also broadcast on the Stateroom television sets.  This was how I enjoyed them when my Mouseketeers needed their beauty sleep.

I hope this helps you, Kaitlyn! If you have any further Disney vacation planning questions, sail back here to see us, and we will be so happy to help you.

    Bon Voyage,
    Keri
