I am planning on taking my children, ages 6 and 7 to Disney World In February. My 6 year old son has an autism spectrum disorder, as well as ADHD and mood disorder. I'd like to get a special needs pass, is it necessary to have a letter from our doctor?

Hey Jennifer, thanks for allowing me to assist you on your trip. The best place to begin is by looking at Disney's Guest with Disabilities page. Here you will learn about the Guest Assistance Card (GAC). The card helps visitors to the parks with a variety of special needs that could prevent them from being able to enjoy attractions. To begin check in with Guest Relations upon your arrival. The cast members are very knowledgeable and are happy to assist in making this vacation as magical as possible. While it is not necessary to have documentation, a note from a physician will aid the cast members in providing your party with the best experience. Upon receipt the GAC will allows the guest and up to 5 other members access to waiting areas when available. I hope this provides you with some direction to make this the best vacation ever. I am happy to answer any other questions you might have.
