We are planning to surprise our 7 year old daughter with our very first trip to Disney World (Jan 28 - Feb 1) for Christmas this year. Can anyone please give me advise for things I absolutely need to remember to pack as well as the attractions worth seeing

Best surprise ever! You are going to be hard pressed to ever top this Christmas.

On your first trip do visit all four theme parks. Plan to spend the most time in the Magic Kingdom where you will want to visit the new Fantasyland expansion, see the Wishes fireworks, and experience at least one thrill ride- either Thunder Mountain Railroad or Space Mountain would be my top picks.

In Disney's Animal Kingdom see one of the two wonderful shows,  either Finding Nemo-the Musical or Festival of the Lion King. Don't miss Kilimanjaro Safaris at this park; you will think you are on an African safari. At Epcot Soarin', Test Track, and a ride through Spaceship Earth are my top recommendations. Disney's Hollywood Studios offers Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Star Tours, and Fantasmic!. The thrill rides at this park are awesome if your family loves big drops (Twilight Zone Tower of Terror) and roller coasters.

If your daughter is a Disney princess fan, make plans to eat at Cinderella's Royal Table or for Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. You will need reservations for either of these restaurants so call 407.939.3463 to book a table

Pack comfortable clothes, walking shoes, and a light jacket. Be prepared for days in the low 70s with cooler evenings in the 50s. If your daughter love costumes put a Disney princess outfit in your suitcase for her to wear at a princess meal. Sunscreen and sunglasses are a must in central Florida anytime of year. Also toss swimsuits in your luggage since the pools at the resorts are heated. Remember you can pop in a shop to buy practically any forgotten item.

Please contact me if you have additional questions. Planning a first visit to Walt Disney World can be overwhelming and I would love to help you create a magical experience for your family.
