We are planning a surprise visit to Disneyland in 2 weeks and will be attending the Halloween party! My son (6 yo) wants to be a zombie for Halloween. Is that considered "violent?" Should I bring a different costume for him? Thanks!

Hi there, Pam! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I love answering questions from my Colorado neighbors about the Disneyland Resort!

I am delighted that you will be attending Mickey's Halloween Party soon. You and your family are going to have a blast! As you know, there are costume guidelines for Guests attending the party that state, "Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable, or violent." For a zombie costume, I would err on the side of caution and focus on ghoulish make up and tattered clothing instead of blood or gore. Think along the lines of the Grim, Grinning Ghosts from Haunted Mansion and you will be fine or if you have easy access to an alternate costume, that may not be a bad idea either. There are lots of little kiddos that attend the party and the Disneyland Resort wants to ensure that the party remains suitable for all Guests.

Remember that with your Mickey's Halloween Party ticket you can enter both parks beginning three hours before the start of the party. You'll definitely want to see all the eerie decorations that Disney California Adventure Park has this year and of course don't miss the Haul-o-Ween makeover of Cars Land! I hope you have a spooktacular time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
