Hi! I am planning a surprise trip for my 4 yr old Jan 27-30. Is it worth an extra $135 to stay at POR in a royal room or save those funds and stay at the Caribbean Resort in a preferred room? What is the difference btw standard and preferred? Thanks!

    Hi there, Shari!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!   Let me help answer your question about Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.   Standard rooms and Preferred rooms both offer views of the Resort Hotel, Woodlands or Courtyard.  They also include 2 double beds and accomodate up to 4 people.  Here is the difference… When you stay in a Preferred room, it is all about location.  Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is very large.  Preferred rooms put you closest to Old Port Royale, the main area of the resort.  It is there where you will find the Lobby Concierge, shops, dining and more.  Regarding your dilemma as to resort choice, that really depends on your budget and theming preference.  I suggest that you also take a look at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside to help with your decision.  Having seen the Royal Guest Rooms myself, I will say that they are nothing short of magical.  You will feel as if you are immersed in a Disney story.  Have fun making your decision, Shari.  You can't go wrong either way!

I wish you a truly magical vacation!
