Planning a surprise trip for July. When the magic bands arrive, do they say Disney on the box? Trying to decide if I need to have them shipped somewhere else so that my children do not see them before we are ready for them to find out. Thanks

Hi Misty, thanks for bringing your question to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Surprise trips are always so exciting to me even though I would never be able to pull one off. I am incapable of containing my excitement especially if it is Disney related. You have some lucky children!

The box that the Magic Bands arrive in is a plain brown cardboard package. It has a shipping label, but it does not say "Walt Disney World" or anything at all recognizable as the 'Disney' brand. Once you open that cardboard packaging there is another box that does have identifiable Disney Characters printed on it. I suggest that once you receive the package you just tell your children that it is your shipment of checkbooks or something utterly boring and hide it until you can open it in private. You shouldn't need to ship them elsewhere. If you still have concerns about spoiling the surprise, you can have the Magic Bands shipped to your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. You can still personalize them beforehand and they will be available at the front desk upon check-in.

Also, my fellow Moms Panelist Amiyrah has some cool ideas on how to reveal the big surprise

If you have any more questions, we are here to help in any way we can. Have a magical Walt Disney World vacation!

I am a recent graduate from Ball State University and mother to my 5-year-old son. We love all things Disney and when we aren’t watching Disney films or planning our next vacation, we love to go to touring Disney shows. I also love to cook, listen to music, read books, and paint. With my experience planning vacations and navigating the parks from a single parent’s perspective, I hope to be able to add a little “pixie dust” to your vacation! Learn More About Sarah
