Hey there, Jennifer! Boy oh boy, am I happy to welcome you to planDisney! I am so glad you stopped by with this question, and I’m excited for your family! A stay at the
Disneyland Hotel is one of the best birthday presents I can think of for your soon-to-be five year old!
My kids loved staying on property at Disneyland Resort when they were younger, and now that they are older, they still get so excited when I mention I planned a trip!
The Disneyland Hotel is classically Disney. With traditional Mickey decor and photos of Walt and Mickey throughout the rooms, they unfortunately do not have Disney Princess themed rooms. However, I have a fun suggestion to bring in that Princess flair and make the birthday celebration even more magical! With
In-Room Celebrations, you can pre-arrange the Princess Birthday Celebration. The package includes:
• Princess birthday balloon bouquet
• Princess crown ear headband
• Autograph book and pen
• Princess carriage necklace
• Pin
• Pink and silver castle tote bag
• Rose petals
I can imagine your daughter’s face when she walks in and sees it all set up in your room! Another extra-special touch at the Disneyland Hotel is the headboards in the room. Before you drift off to Neverland, make sure you push the button on the lamp on the bedside table. Something magical lights up your night!
Now, as far as the balcony. Standard rooms at the Disneyland Hotel do not have balconies. Instead, there are very large picture windows, and I have spent many moments standing at them and marveling at the view. The newly added
Villas at Disneyland Hotel do have some rooms with balconies, but they do not feature the traditional Disney and Mickey decor. Here, the rooms are brighter colors and themes inspired by The Jungle Book, The Princess and the Frog, Fantasia, and Sleeping Beauty. That could be a great fit for the look you’re hoping for on your daughter’s
big day, if you wanted to go that route.
There are studios, and 1, 2, and 3 bedroom Villas, with some featuring kitchenettes or full kitchens, depending on the room type you select. They are part of Disney Vacation Club, but you don’t have to be a DVC Member to book them! I would suggest calling a
Cast Member Hotel Reservation Specialist to ask about specific Villas that have balconies in this section of the hotel.
Jennifer, when you visit, make sure to stop by Guest Relations to pick up a complimentary birthday button for your daughter, and “I’m Celebrating” buttons for the rest of the family!
You will be visting near the end of the
Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration, so soak up all the decor, treats, sights, and sounds before it concludes August 9, 2026! Make time to see the
Paint the Night Parade. It is one that will leave kids and kids at heart mesmerized and dancing to the beat! I sing the main song to myself (ok, sometimes out loud, too) at least once a day.
Jennifer, I hope your daughter has the best birthday! Please tell her happy birthday from all of us here at planDisney, and come back by if we can help with anything else as you continue to plan!
And remember to always….Celebrate Happy!
