Planning a surprise trip to DW for my niece sometime towards the end of April. It will just be a quick trip, with hopping from Epcot to HS.Have our own car, so will it be faster to drive from Epcot to HS or take the ferry? If ferry, how late does it run?

Hey Laura!  Even a quick trip is a fun trip to Walt Disney World!

I love taking the boat from Epcot to Hollywood Studios as it is a nice rest between running among the great attractions in each park.  The boat takes approximately 30 minutes and you catch it just outside the International Gateway entrance in the World Showcase.

If you are planning one half day in one park and then finish the day in the other park it will be easier on you in the end to just drive to Hollywood Studios. Parking for Epcot is in the front and once you get on the crowded boats at the end of the evening at Hollywood Studios you will still have to walk through Epcot to reach your car and the parking lots.  Take the extra time which will only be a few more minutes then if you took the boat and park at Hollywood Studios. That way you will have your car waiting whenever you decide to leave for the night!
