Planning a surprise trip for our 4 children Nov 17-24 2015. Ages 16,13,10,9. We will be flying out early in the morning so we thought about doing something special the night before? Any ideas on age appropriate ways to reveal the surprise?

    Hi Jennifer!

I am so excited to help you plan your Walt Disney World surprise for your kids. With a large family, there is a lot that will go into packing for your trip, so I think a great way to surprise your kids would be to do a packing scavenger hunt! Put together a list of the things they will need to pack. For example, everyone would need five t-shirts, five pairs of pants, one sweatshirt or jacket, swimsuit, etc. You will want to list them in order of most ambiguous to most specific. So I would have everyone get t-shirts and swimsuits first (most hotels have swimming pools regardless of destination, right?) and put sandals and shorts towards the end. As people are packing their clothes, you can choose respond to guesses, but if your family is full of good guessers like mine, you might not want to confirm any of their answers until the big reveal.

Once all of their bags are packed, you can tell them that there is one more thing that needs to go in your carry-on bag. If you will have MagicBands for your trip, I would use these! Otherwise, you can use customized Mickey ear hats, matching t-shirts with your favorite Disney characters on them or Disney gift card for each child to use as their spending money. I'm sure your family will have fun guessing their big surprise and get ready for the trip at the same time!

    T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
