Planning a surprise Spring Break trip to WDW for our teenagers. We want to celebrate the one-year anniversary of our son achieving the rank of Eagle Scout while on the trip; he will be 14 next March. Our daughter graduates high school in May 2019.

    Hi Anne,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Walt Disney World is always a fantastic vacation destination, and even more so for a celebration vacation. Congratulations to your Eagle Scout son and your soon-to-be graduate daughter. I'm sure you're so proud of their achievements! I think a surprise Walt Disney World trip is an awesome way to celebrate.

I can think of a few quick ideas to help mark the special occasions. I'm sure that everybody's favorite Wilderness Explorer would love to meet an experienced Eagle Scout, so be sure to visit Disney's Animal Kingdom where your Eagle Scout son can meet Wilderness Explorer Russell. While you're at Disney's Animal Kingdom, take the adventurous Wild Africa Trek. If the Force is strong with your teens, they can take their adventure to a completely different galaxy with the immersive Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire by ILMxLAB and The VOID. There's a good chance that the 2019 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival will be in full bloom, and you can check out the lineup at the Garden Rocks Concert Series. To help your daughter celebrate, she can accessorize in Disney style with a cool graduation Glow Ears Headband or Ear Hat. Of course, you'll want to capture all this celebratory magic with lots of PhotoPass photos, and better yet, a Disney Fine Art Photography session.

Anne, if you have questions as you plan your big surprise, please be sure to come back to Disney Parks Moms Panel. We're here for you and happy to help.

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
