Planning a surprise b-day trip for my daughter in April. Originally chose Pop but switched to the CB pirate room. Are the pirate rooms very far away from guests services? I will not have a car. Should I switch to another hotel?

    Hi Lisa!

Wow! A surprise birthday at Disney World. You're awesome Mom! :-)

I'm certain your daughter will have memories to last a lifetime when you go...

First, let me say the Caribbean Beach is a MASSIVE resort. Wear some comfortable shoes, because there will be some decent amount of walking. I have personally never stayed, but a number of my friends and colleagues have, and they've always said they thoroughly enjoy this resort. Each village has its own island theme, and the pools and beach areas are 'a plenty.

The "themed-out" pirate rooms are located in the Trinidad South village. This village is at the very back end of the resort, whereas guest services (the Custom House) is located at the front. Then there's the Old Port Royale Centertown, where the food court is located. Closer to the Trinidad South village, but could still be about a 7-10 minute walk.

However, understanding the sheer size of the complex, Disney has an internal bus system that goes around and transports guests to different areas of the resort. This should help tremendously with the idea of spending most of your time walking.

I would personally recommend trying it out. As I said, those I know that stayed really enjoyed staying there, the pirate rooms were a huge enticement, and their children sounded like they had a blast.

    Have a terrific time!
