I am planning on suprising my kids with our disney vacation as a christmas gift. any ideas on helping adding to the suprise?

Hi Kristin!  I love surprises!  Will you actually be vacationing during the holiday season?  I can remember the year when we surprised our kids.  It was so hard to keep the secret but we pulled it off!  Here is what we did.  We packed their suitcases with their Disney gear.  We then wrapped each suitcase and put them under the tree, towards the back so they would open them last.  We were staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge so we also gave smaller gifts like binoculars, play animals, traveling games, etc. As they started to unwrap their gifts, we could see they were confused as to why the gifts seemed out of the norm.  Then it was time to open the big gifts.  The looks on their face when they opened their packed suitcases was priceless!  They were so confused as they started to put two and two together.  When they finally figured it out, they asked when we were going.  When we announced that we were going to hop in the van immediately (which was packed with everything but their suitcases the night before), they were in total shock.  We still talk about that Christmas to this day!

Another idea might be to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas by leaving a small gift under a tree or in a stocking for them to open each day before the big reveal.  Some items you can consider leaving are   Disney Dollars, Disney pins, an autograph book, pens, stuffed characters, etc.  You can start small and build up on the clues so that by the time they figure it out, it's time to go!  And if you don't want to wait the 12 days, you could do something similar by setting up a scavenger hunt.

I hope this gives you a few ideas.  Good luck with your surprise and have lots of fun with it!  I hope your vacation is truly magical!  Diane  :)
