I am planning a summer 2020 Disney vacation. Our family has not been to Disney since 2014 and it almost doesn't seem like the same place with the new things coming to the parks, magic bands, different transportation, etc. Where should I start ?

Hi Derek and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
We're so happy that you're starting to plan an upcoming Disney vacation and that you've come here for help!

So many magical things have been added to Walt Disney World since your last visit in 2014 and trying to figure out where to start can seem challenging. I would suggest to figure out where you would like to stay at Walt Disney World. Much of the magic that you will experience could happen at your resort, so you want to be sure that you and your family won't miss out on anything. My family's favorite resort is Disney's Port Orleans Riverside. New Orleans is one of our favorite cities, so being able to have a taste of the Bayou at Disney just helps to make our trip even more special. A complimentary MagicBand will be given to each guest 3 and older on your reservation.
Once you've decided where you will call home during your stay, you'll need to determine how many days you plan to visit the theme parks. So much pixie dust has happened since your last Disney visit, visiting a park a day or choosing your top two parks is my suggestion. This will allow you to experience as much of the magic as possible each day, without having a fear of missing any of the new Disney theme park additions. Once your parks have been determined, FastPass+ selections can be decided on along with dining. Remember that dining reservations can be made 180 days before your planned visit and 60 days in advance for FastPass+ reservations.
Derek, continue to visit the Walt Disney World website and The Disney Parks Blog to see what other new attractions or shows are added before your 2020 trip.
