We are planning on staying at WDW the second week of May but were having a lot of difficulty figuring out where to stay. Debating between the Coronado or Caribbean and could really use some advice. We have two boys 3 and 5 years old. Thanks !!

    Hi Vanessa.
Both resorts are considered 'moderate' resorts and as such are about in the same price category.

Coronado Spring has a Southwest feel and Spanish-style guest rooms.  Caribbean Beach Resort has the look and feel of the Caribbean Islands - Trinidad, Martinique, Barbados, Aruba and Jamaica.  Each resort surrounds a beautiful lake, and each are split into distinct room areas, with a bus stop servicing each area.

For our kids it was always about the pool - and each of these resorts offer great pools.  At Coronado Springs, the Mayan pyramid-themed Dig Site has a large pool with a "jaguar-inspired 123-foot long water slide".  In addition, they can hunt for hidden treasure at the 'Explorer's Playground'.

If your boys are pirates at heart, then I would go with the Caribbean Beach Resort.  The Pirate-inspired pool (at centrally located 'Old Port Royal'/'Centertown, where the food court, restaurant and gift shops are), is truly wonderful.  You can even get 'pirate-themed' rooms in the 'Trinidad South' buildings, which are about a ten minute walk from the pirate pool (note, there is also a smaller pool right in each of the six Caribbean 'Islands'.  There is also an island called 'Caribbean Cay' which has a wonderful play area for kids.

Vanessa, whichever you chose, I wish you a magical family time together!
