We are planning on staying in disney wilderness lodge cabins. Has anyone ever stayed in them? My biggest concern is the transportation? Do you have to walk far to get to the buses to the parks? Are the buses to the parks fast? Cant wait to go!!!

    Hi Alexis!

There's Fort Wilderness Campground and Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  The two resorts are right next to each other on Bay Lake.  Fort Wilderness offers cabins while the Wilderness Lodge is more like a standard hotel, though beautiful and my favorite hotel in the world!  Since you said cabin, I'm assuming you are staying in a cabin at Fort Wilderness.  Many guests absolutely love Fort Wilderness and the cabins; however, some guests do complain about the complimentary transportation.

Fort Wilderness is huge!  There's an internal bus system to move guests around inside Fort Wilderness.  If you are at a cabin and have a car, then you can park you car right outside your cabin; you can then just drive to any of the theme parks.  However, it sounds like you want to use Disney transportation as much as possible.  You will have to walk to an internal bus stop and then take the internal bus to either the boat dock for a boat to the Magic Kingdom, or to a transfer point where you can then transfer to a different  bus going to one of the theme parks.  Needless to say, it's not fast because you might have to wait for the first bus and then wait for the second bus.  If you rent a golf cart at Fort Wilderness then you can skip the internal bus system and just drive yourself to catch the boat or the theme park buses.

Enjoy planning your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation and write back if you have any more questions.
