Hi Daniel! Welcome to planDisney.
My family considers
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort our "Disney home." We have stayed there many times over the years, and we keep coming back because we love the beautiful grounds and theming and fantastic food options at this resort hotel. We had the opportunity to stay in a Gran Destino Tower room this past summer, and it exceeded our expectations - we loved it and can't wait to stay there again. I'm so excited for you to experience it all this coming summer!
I'm happy to share my experiences using
Disney Bus Transportation from Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. The bus does loop around the resort - Gran Destino Tower is the last stop before departing for the parks and Disney Springs, and the last stop when returning. This does not bother my family, as we usually take a minute to enjoy the air conditioning and even close our eyes a little on the bus ride. If you didn't want to wait for the bus to circle the resort on your return ride, you could exit at Casitas and walk over to the Tower. It's probably a 5-8 minute walk (depending on your walking pace), but I don't think the circle around the resort takes that much longer.
As for travel times, depending on traffic, it takes about 10 minutes to ride to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios, and probably about 15 minutes to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Magic Kingdom Park is the longest ride and is probably about 20 minutes. Disney Springs and the water parks are probably about 15 minutes by bus. We could see Expedition Everest and Pandora - The World of Avatar at Disney's Animal Kingdom from our Tower room window, and you can see fireworks at EPCOT from
Dahlia Lounge on the roof of the tower. Before the tower was built, my family would watch EPCOT's fireworks from the pool!
Daniel, enjoy your stay at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort! My favorite "hidden gem" at this resort is the
Barcelona Lounge - I took the elevator down to pick up Cafe Con Leche for my husband and me every morning of our stay this summer! As you continue to plan and dream, please come back and see us if you have any further questions, and be sure to read the
Disney Parks Blog for all the latest news and travel tips. See ya real soon!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
