We are planning on staying at Baylake tower in March with a baby that naps during the day. Could you please let me know the extent of construction noise during the day inside the building? Do they keep guests on opposite side of construction? Please let

Hey Howdy Hey Julia and welcome to planDisney!

With three girls of my own, I know how important those mid-day naps are for little ones. Having a cool and quiet place is important for them to get some rest. A child with a missed nap can be a tough situation to navigate at times. Let's talk about what you may experience during your trip and some tips that may help.

You are correct Julia that Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort will be undergoing construction for refurbishments from September 2024 to September 2025. In my experience, when room refurbishments are happening, a whole or part of a block of rooms per floor is typically blocked off so this can occur. While they do try to limit any rooms directly next to construction activity, there may be a chance you are either above or below the construction being done. While there is good soundproofing between floors I have some tips that may help.

The first thing I would plan on doing is to bring a noise maker. There are so many affordable options these days that can help you and your little one fall asleep and stay asleep while blocking out any outside noise. These can come in a separate device or you can look them up on your smartphone. I have used the Green Noise playlist on Spotify but there are many other background noise playlists you can search for that may help.

Your other option can be a special room request when you check-in. You can feel free to stop at the front desk if you have a room assignment and express your concerns with the Cast Members at the front desk. You can request a room away from the construction and the Cast Members will do their best to accommodate your request. Just be patient that they try to accommodate every request but at times may not have enough availability to do so.

I have visited Disney Resorts hotels before during construction and honestly, I was not aware they were doing any work unless I walked by the area. Disney does a great job overall minimizing disturbances to your vacation as they know this may be the only trip for many. I hope this information helped ease your mind about your upcoming vacation. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions, we are always happy to help!
