Hiya there, Sandra. Welcome to planDisney!
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is probably my favorite
Moderate Resort Hotel at the
Walt Disney World Resort. I loved my time in a Royal Guest Room, but truthfully, it's the entire resort that has a charm and character all its own. Plus, as a Disney foodie, I love the options at
Boatwright's Dining Hall and the fact that
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is a short walk or boat ride away. A visit to this resort isn't complete without some beignets at
Scat Cat's Club - Lounge or
Scat Cat's Club - Café. And while I have never personally experienced the fan-favorite
Yehaa Bob Jackson at River Roost Lounge, if he's playing while you're there, GO!
While all of the 5th Sleepers are located in the Alligator Bayou section of this resort, not all of these rooms have the 5th Sleeper. If you are not booking a 5th Sleeper room, you can request that your room be in the Alligator Bayou section of the resort. Just note that while Cast Members will do their best to honor these requests, they cannot be guaranteed.
Since
Tiana's Bayou Adventure in
Magic Kingdom Park is
set to open at some point this summer, I think a stay at this resort is in order for me soon. Since many of the rooms at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside have at least subtle touches of
The Princess and the Frog, a vacation immersing yourself in this story would be fitting. Can you imagine it? Staying at a New Orleans-themed resort and then
going down the bayou with
Princess Tiana herself? I can't think of anything better!
Sandra, I hope you have a wonderful visit.
Please reach out again if you have any other questions.
Good food brings folks together from all walks of life,
Matt
