We are planning to stay in Port Orleans Riverside in January. Two questions: 1 - Where is the best location in Riverside to request for the best stay for small children? We are concerned about too much walking. 2 - Is the weather OK in January?

    Hi Sydni,

When we have stayed at Port Orleans Riverside, our favorite building has always been building 14 (buildings 15 and 18 are our runner-ups) on the Allligator Bayou side.  It has lovely views of Old Man River while being located next to main building so both dining and a bus stop are just a short walk away (which to me is important when traveling with little ones).  It is also an easy walk to the main pool, which is located in the center of the resort.

As your trip approaches, you'll want to check the weather by visiting a website like www.weather.com.  We have had a variety of temperatures on our winter trips.  During my last January visit, I needed a jacket/mittens during the evening and early morning, but was fine during the day without those. The average January temperature is 61 degrees.

Thank  you for visiting the Moms Panel; please let us know if we can help again.
