We are planning our stay at Port Orleans Riverside in April. Is there any difference in the Royal rooms vs standard other than decor? Thanks!

Hello Sarah!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Mom´s Panel.

Disney´s Port Orleans - Riverside Resort features two sections and three different room designs.  All rooms include queen beds, two sinks and mini-fridge.  These also have the same dimensions.

At the Magnolia Bend section guests can either choose the Mansion Rooms, with a very elegant theme or the Royal Guest Rooms that adds a magical princess theme.  This is a great experience for princess.

The Alligator Bayou section rooms are located between pines and oak trees, creating a cozy woods-feel.  This section includes one bunk-size pull down bed for a fifth guest - at no extra charge.  My two kids love to sleep with "Louis" the alligator at the pull down bed.

Port Orleans Resort is my family´s main hotel and we enjoy its feel, location and comfort.  We also like that all rooms were completely refurbished from 2011 to 2012.

I recommend this Port Orleans Riverside review that provides room views not available at Disney´s webpage.

Happy to help you plan a magical Disney vacation.
