We are planning to stay at POR-Riverside in one of the Royal Rooms. Its going to be My husband, 2 year old daughter, and myself. I was wondering if I can get some of the pros and cons about the resort. And about how far we will be from everything?

    Hello Jaqulyn,

How lucky for your little princess to be staying in one of the regal royal rooms at Port Orleans Riverside Resort. I recently got to tour these beautiful rooms and was in awe of all of the amazing details within the room. I do not think you'll be disappointed in your choice of hotel one bit.

Port Orleans Riverside is a wonderful resort full of quaint southern charm. The landscaping and buildings will make you feel as if you have been transported back in time to the stately antebellum manors of the deep south. I have always found this resort to be pretty quiet since it is pretty spread out. However, since it is spread out, there are multiple bus stops for transportation, so this could add more time to your travel time on the buses to and from the parks. Since you are staying in the Royal Rooms which are located in either Oak Manor or Parterre Place. Oak Manor is closer to the east depot bus stop near Magnolia Terrace. The good news is that the east depot is the last stop on the route around the resort, so on the way to the parks, your travel time will not include making multiple stops around the resort, but on the way back to your hotel, it will add on some time before reaching your destination.

Another great thing about the Royal Rooms is they are a short walk over a bridge to the main building with the front desk, Boatwright's Dining Hall, Riverside Mill (food court), and Fulton's General Store. The swimming pool and play area around Ol' Man Island are lots of fun. This resort also has a variety of trails to enjoy by renting surrey bikes or for walking.

The resort is closest to Downtown Disney, but furthest from Animal Kingdom. Your bus rides will average between 15-25 minutes. Keep in mind that this is simply an estimate and could vary based on time of day or traffic. These estimates do not include waiting time and are the travel time only.

I hope this is useful information and have a magical trip!
