We are planning to stay at PO-Riverside in Aug 15. When I make the reservation, is there a way to specify that we would like Alligator Bayou (rather than Magnolia) and more specifically, a room with the Murphy Bed?

    Hi Kathleen,

Thanks so much for stopping by the Moms Panel to ask your question. Also, congratulations on planning your next Walt Disney World vacation! With only less than a year left until you arrive, I know you must be so excited to make this experience extra special for your family.

There are 2 ways to make your request for a room within "The Cottages" or the Alligator Bayou section of Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside.

First, you will want to annotate your request in the notes section of your online reservation. This will ensure that the Cast Members see your request as soon as they research what rooms are available during your arrival. They will work their hardest to place you in accommodations in Alligator Bayou. Keep in mind that these rooms are not Royal Guest Rooms, so you should have a good chance of acquiring it. Also, Alligator Bayou accommodations with Murphy Beds are usually given to guests with 5 party members. If this is the case for your family, you should be given a room with a Murphy Bed by default. If not, definitely make sure to request a room with a Murphy Bed.

Second, you can call the reservations line directly and make your request. I would suggest making your full reservation by calling (407) 939-5277. With this option, you'll have a Cast Member work with you step by step to ensure that your request is noted on your account. You'll also have a name to reference when you call back a few weeks before your vacation to check on the status of your reservation. Sometimes it helps to speak directly to a Cast Member to ensure that you have some pixie dust sprinkled onto your reservation.

I hope this answered your question, Kathleen. If you have any other questions while planning your magical vacation, feel free to ask us at any time.

    Have a fantastical Disney day!
