Hi, We are planning to stay at OKW during Christmas. We (adults no children) have stayed at SS many times and usually walk to DTD the question is how much longer is the walk from OKW to DTD and is the pathway well lite? Thanks

    Hello Daphne!

I love the new pedestrian bridge that connects Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa with Downtown Disney. I think it makes Downtown Disney, soon to be magically transformed into Disney Springs, so much more accessible to Members staying Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. It is now just a quick 5-10 minute walk from the Congress Park section of the resort to the Downtown Disney Marketplace.

I have not personally made the walk from Disney’s Old Key West to Downtown Disney. My understanding is that it is approximately a 25 minute walk from the resort to the parking lot behind Downtown Disney’s West Side. This pathway is not well lit, and to my knowledge is closed between dusk and dawn. This might be a great way to enjoy a daytime stroll to Downtown Disney and burn off those turkey legs and Dole Whips, but not a great choice for a late night walk home. In that situation I would use either boat or bus service.

We really enjoyed the leisurely boat ride from Disney’s Old Key West Resort. Boats run on the hour from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., and then they begin on running on the half hour. I thought we got some neat views of the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa from the waterway. Lots of exciting things are happening as the new Disney Springs emerges. New dining and retail were announced just this week. Be sure to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for any new exciting Disney Springs announcements!
