Hi Kim,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question.
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is one of my favorites! The palm trees surrounding Lago Dorado give the resort a relaxing vacation feeling, making it a fantastic place to unwind after exciting days in the theme parks.
The resort is currently undergoing a refurbishment, which will add a 15-story tower as well as refreshed rooms and some new garden features. I haven’t stayed in the refurbished rooms yet, though the pictures I’ve seen online look fabulous. The rooms my family has stayed in have been great, with comfortable beds and lots of storage space around the room. We love the sliding door to the bathroom area, which provides an extra layer of privacy when we’re all hustling in the morning to get to the parks. I find the décor of these rooms really inviting, with subtle Mexican theming featuring some fun Disney touches. Kim, I would not worry at all about getting a refurbished room, as the older style rooms really are lovely.
While at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, I have some must-do activities. One thing I really enjoy is to get a hot beverage and take a quiet walk around Lago Dorado while the sun is rising. The views are completely dreamy, and it’s such a peaceful start to the day. We also love to spend lots of time at the Lost City of Cibola pool, which features a giant pyramid – don’t miss the super Siestas Cantina poolside bar while you’re there. Finally, have a meal at the Pepper Market food court, which offers a variety of Mexican and American menu items and a frozen margarita machine in a really beautiful setting.
Wishing you a fabulous stay at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and a magical vacation!
