Hi! We're planning to stay at the CBR in April. We're wanting to stay in the new pirate themed rooms, & want a water view. Are there any advantages to this? A friend of mine has stayed at the Polynesian & was able to see fireworks from their room.

A water view room at the Caribbean Beach Resort doesn't offer the same advantages of a water view room at the Polynesian.  The Polynesian is a deluxe resort on the monorail, and is situated in very close proximity to the Magic Kingdom.  The Caribbean Beach Resort, on the other hand, is a moderate resort, and as such, it isn't situated very close to any particular theme park.  A water view room at the Caribbean Beach Resort will guarantee that your room won't overlook a dingy dumpster, but it won't offer a fireworks view.  You'll have a view of a body of water of some sort, and in some cases that body of water is a swimming pool.

I've had the pleasure of staying at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, in a standard view room.  While I can see the benefits of shelling out the extra cash for a water view room at the Polynesian, I can't say that I'd be inclined to pay extra for a view of a swimming pool at the Caribbean Beach Resort.  Whichever way you choose to go, I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay; Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is truly a great property!
