Planning a spur of the moment trip for DH, DD2, DD6 and mom. Have stayed at BCV but looking to save a little money this time. Considering The Swan because I LOVE the boardwalk location, but POR looks sort of tempting too. Is one way better? THANK YOU!!!

I don't know if one is way better, but there are some definite differences.  For starters, the Swan is within walking distance of not only Disney's Boardwalk but also Epcot, which opens up a whole lot of dining options.  Port Orleans Riverside, on the other hand, is one of Disney's moderate resorts.  As such, there are no parks within walking distance and on-site dining options are very limited.  That said, Port Orleans Riverside boasts gorgeous grounds--some of the most beautiful on property, in my opinion.  It also features a lovely pool and plenty of recreational opportunities.  I really don't think you can go wrong with either, though surely one of them will better fit the criteria most important to you.  I'd base my decision on whether proximity to the Boardwalk/Epcot is more important, or if you'd prefer the quiet country charm of a Disney property.  Good luck with your decision!
