We are planning a spring trip with our 8 year old to WDW. We are considering either Animal Kingdom (she wants to see the animals) or Saratoga Springs (close access to Downtown Disney). Any advice on which might be better?

    HI Deanna,

I have been stayed at both, and I think my heart belongs to the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  I am always amazed at the beauty of the resort with its art, colors, views, and the overall experience.  it is unlike any other resort experience I've ever had.  How often can a giraffe and zebra join you for your morning coffee?
I also like that the resort is smaller in size and housed under two roofs:  either Jambo House or Kidani Village (while Saratoga Springs has 12 buildings). In addition, there are three of my favorite restaurants at the resorts:  Boma, Jiko, and Sanaa.

But if you go book Saratoga Springs, it, too, is a lovely resort with beautiful rooms. It is also convenient if you'd like to golf, visit Downtown Disney, or visit the spa for some pampering.

So overall, though, the proximity to Downtown Disney wouldn't rank as high as the overall experience of the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  But please keep in mind that is purely opinion.  Either way, you will be way Walt Disney World!
