Hi Ilene - Spring Break is typically peak season, so it's usually more expensive than off-peak times. However, you can still find some deals. I have two resources to recommend to you for getting the best deal.
The
special offers page on the Walt Disney World Web site shows the latest deals being offered. Depending on the dates you are traveling, you may be able to take advantage of the limited time offer for a free Disney gift card ($300-$750 depending on the room type).
The independent Web site Mousesavers.com is also a great resource for finding the best prices.
Keep in mind that value resorts at Walt Disney World are the least expensive, and still offer the same great benefits that moderate and deluxe resorts offer, like complimentary transportation from the airport, extra magic hours, and the option to purchase the Disney Dining Plan. If you plan to eat most of your meals at Walt Disney World, you may want to consider adding the Disney Dining Plan to your package. I find that the dining plan offers my family great value.
Since you mentioned that you want to do at least one princess character meal, I'd suggest that you schedule that now, as those meals book up well in advance. I'd recommend Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot, as it's a better value than Cinderella's Royal Table but is still absolutely wonderful!
Have a great vacation!
