Planning a split stay 7/6 arriving at 11 am to 7\10. Can't decide between BLT,comtemp or poly. 2 adults 3 children boys 8 &10 and girl 6. Want to spend the second half of our stay 7\10-7\15 at the beach club resort. what dining plan do you suggest

Hi, Darrin! You've given me some great information to help you plan, and you really have some wonderful plans and ideas already. Let's tweak this a little!

First of all, if you're not a member of the Disney Vacation Club using points, staying at a villa such as Bay Lake Tower is an expensive accommodations choice....especially if you're considering a dining plan. One of the best aspects of staying in a DVC villa is being able to eat in your room on occasion. You would have more room in a one-bedroom villa (and a washing machine/dryer), but the five of you can still fit comfortably in a room at The Contemporary or The Polynesian. (Both resorts have some of the largest square footage of WDW resort rooms and have two queen beds with a day bed.)

Between the two, my preference is The Contemporary (in the tower/Magic Kingdom view). I believe that -- with The California Grill, Chef Mickey's and The Wave -- The Contemporary has some of the best choices in dining as well as unmatched recreation choices and the ability to see fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant from your room. There is direct transportation to four other resorts -- the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian by monorail and Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness by boat taxi.

The Beach Club is an excellent choice to follow up a visit to The Contemporary. (In fact, one is my favorite Magic Kingdom resort and the other is my favorite Epcot/Hollywood Studios resort.) You'll love the dining, recreation and convenience of this The Beach Club, and your kids will need at least a half-day to fully enjoy Stormalong Bay (The Beach Club's pool).  As far as a dining plan, I recommend the Basic Dining Plan with a table-service meal, a quick-service meal and a snack per day. The other plans include too much eating for me -- especially for kids who don't always want to sit down for a long period of time.

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
