Hi, we are planning a split hotel stay this summer with 4 nights at the AoA followed by 4 nights at AK. How do we get ourselves (and our luggage) there? We will not have our own transportation. Thanks!

    HI Patricia,

My family does split stays on nearly every Disney vacation. We love how it gives us the opportunity to enjoy multiple resorts. Transferring is incredibly easy. You will pack up your luggage and then call down to Bell Services. When they arrive, let them know that you need to have your bags transferred to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. You need to stay with your bags until they get to your room as they will give you a claim check after you've verified that they have everything. You are then free to head out and enjoy your day in the parks. At the end of the day, instead of boarding a bus to Art of Animation, you'll hop on one bound for the Animal Kingdom Lodge. When you check in, simply stop by the Bell Services desk and let them know that you had luggage transferred. They will bring it up to your new room for you.

If you had not planned on spending your transfer day in a park, you'll want to hop on a bus bound for Downtown Disney and then transfer to an Animal Kingdom Lodge bus. This is because buses do not run directly from resort to resort. Even though your room won't be ready that early, you can enjoy the pool and explore the resort as soon as you complete an early check-in. If you choose this option, make sure you keep your bathing suits with you as your luggage won't be transferred until the afternoon.

    Wishing you a wonderful vacation,
