Hi, Tanis! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Ringing in the New yEAR at Walt Disney World Resort will certainly be a time to remember! I am told that this year, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be running its regular Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular fireworks show (time scheduled online displays at midnight). As this is the first time that this is done, it is unclear if there will be a countdown, but with all that Disney magic, I am assuming there will be some sort of ringing in of the new yEAR! If you are looking for something a little more “New Year’s Eve”, I would suggest heading to the
New Year’s Countdown Fireworks at Epcot, which starts at 11:40 PM, only on December 31, 2017, although it is sure to be a little more crowded. Although I haven’t heard much about New Year’s Eve festivities at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, I have heard that Disney’s Contemporary Resort has a fun filled evening planned for all Guests, including the
Pixar Party: A New Year's Eve Celebration. If you plan on attending this specific event, a separate ticket is required. If you are planning on viewing Magic Kingdom Park’s New Year’s Eve fireworks from one of the Disney Monorail Resort hotels, keep in mind that during busy times, Cast Members may restrict viewing areas (such as the beach at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort) to Guests staying at those Disney Resort hotels.
I hope this information will help you with your planning and that your last day of 2017 is as magical as Sorcerer Mickey’s hat! All the best in the New Year, and see you again real soon,
Jen
