Planning on spending the day of April 15th in Hollywood Studios since that is the only day Fantasmic will be showing during our stay. Should we get dinner at Hollywood Brown Derby or Hollywood & Vine? I have a 1 yr old and 9 yr old.

    Hi Christa,

Fantasmic! is one of my favorite shows ever!  If you haven't seen it, you're in for a treat - but beware that there are some moments where your little one might be frightened.

Where to eat?  While I love the Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake at the Brown Derby, I would suggest dining at Hollywood & Vine for this trip.  While the Brown Derby certainly welcomes children, it's not the most appealing restaurant for a child.  The atmosphere is kind of sophisticated, in my opinion, and the service is a little slower than what I would want with a 1 year old.

On the other hand, Hollywood and Vine is set up like a colorful diner.  The food is served buffet style, which to me is key when traveling with a tired, hungry toddler.  While not as fancy as Brown Derby, I find the selection and quality of food is quite good.  Is it the restaurant you'll long for when you get home from your vacation?  Probably not, but I'm fairly certain it will be a stress free, enjoyable experience.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
