Planning to spend time at TriCircleD Ranch with a 3 year old, 10 month old, and an adult with Down Syndrome. Are lunch plans at Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge going to be difficult to manage? What is best way to arrive and how much time needed?

    Hi Pamela,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I'm so pleased to hear that you and your family will be spending time at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Whenever I visit there, I am always captivated by the beautiful horses that greet guests at the ranch and at other locations on Walt Disney World property.

You should have no difficulty getting to lunch at Whispering Canyon Café after your visit to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch. It is a relatively short walk from the ranch to the marina at Fort Wilderness. However, you will likely want to have a stroller for your little ones. At the marina, board a boat to Disney's Wilderness Lodge. (Be sure not to board the boat that is headed to Magic Kingdom Park instead.)

Although the boat ride to Disney's Wilderness Lodge is a short one, I recommend you leave the ranch for the marina no less than one hour before your lunch reservation. That will give you time for the boat to arrive if one is not already waiting at the dock. Also, you'll want to give yourself time to explore Disney's Wilderness Lodge as you walk to Whispering Canyon Café. Pay attention to all the details at this magnificently themed resort. (It's my favorite resort in the whole world!)

Enjoy your lunch at Whispering Canyon Café, and if you really enjoy seeing Cast Members getting involved in shenanigans, ask for some ketchup.

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Jill
