We are planning to spend Thanksgiving at WDW. Half of our party is vegetarian and the other half would like turkey. We will have two toddlers with us. Where would you recommend we eat?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jessica! It’s sure to be a magical day for you this coming fall! Since you’re making your Dining Reservations, I’ll give you my favorite turkey takeaway at Walt Disney World Resort!

I have two little kids who tend to be picky eaters and need child-friendly simple options. On the other hand, my husband and I are creative eaters who love traditional foods. Our solution for an American classic meal is Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom. This family-style menu offers replenish-able servings of turkey, pot roast, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables (I’ve always been served green beans), Herby Stuffing, and some of the best Macaroni and Cheese you can find! You’ll also get the famous “Declaration Salad” and top off your family meal with the Ooey Gooey Skillet cake which will make your dreams sweeter than you can imagine. The vegetarians in your party can easily have multiple servings of veggies, salads and sides, which make a belly-filling meal. The turkey-lovers will be extremely happy with the generous cuts of bird.

As you arrive 10 minutes before your reservation time to check in, pass the time with the kids as you wait for your table with the patriotic coloring sheets and crayons in the lobby area. It’s fun to watch them create and sit by the fireplace! Of course, high holidays such as New Year's Eve, Thanksgiving and Christmas can draw large crowds. Even if you have a reservation, if the park is closed due to capacity, you may not enter. Hedge your bets and plan a lunch or enter the park early and bide your time to be sure you won't be left outside. If I can help you further with your plans, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
