Hello Jennifer, how exciting that you'll be ringing in the New Year at the Disneyland Resort! I can't think of a better place to celebrate!
My first recommendation is to book early! If you haven't already, I would start with your hotel choice, and definitely explore the
Disneyland Resort Hotel Vacation Packages as well as the
Good Neighbor Hotel Vacation Packages that will include both
theme park tickets and your hotel accommodations. Once you're 120 days out from your trip, you'll want to make your
theme park reservations for
Disney California Adventure Park as well!
The parks are usually more crowded on New Year's Eve, so I do recommend getting to the park in the morning when the park opens, and I do not recommend park hopping on this date and just sticking with Disney California Adventure Park if that's where your family wants to celebrate the New Year when the clock strikes midnight! Purchasing
Disney Genie+ service is also a way to help save time on busy park days as well!
Since you will probably have a full day at the park and it is a holiday, I would recommend making a
dining reservation for a special table service dinner for your family for that evening! You can make dining reservations up to 60 days in advance. I would highly recommend
Lamplight Lounge as well as
Carthay Circle for a special occasion dinner and a fantastic meal. The views of Pixar Pier from Lamplight Lounge, as well as the Hollywood ambiance at Carthay Circle cannot be beat in my opinion!
As your trip gets closer Jennifer, I would keep an eye on the
entertainment schedule for that day as well. In the past there has been a special
World of Color countdown to midnight nighttime spectacular to help ring in the New Year, so make sure to keep checking the
Disneyland app for the showtimes and other entertainment options!
I hope this information was helpful for your trip planning Jennifer, and I hope that you and your family have the most magical New Year celebration!
Cheers!
Melissa
