Hello! I am planning a very special trip for my daughter and I. She is turning 13 on the 13th of the time we are traveling. It will be summer and very hot. I am looking for extra special things to do to make this even more memorable.

    Hi Mary Beth,

Celebrating a birthday or special occasion at the Walt Disney World Resort is just about as magical as it gets. You daughter's special day is sure to be unforgettable!

One of the most unique ways to celebrate your daughter's thirteenth birthday would be to book Wild Africa Trek in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This one of a kind (specialty priced) Tour allows you to get an up-close view of some of the animals on the savanna. You'll cross over a rope bridge and get to dangle over hippos and crocodiles while safely secured to a harness. You will also get to snack on African inspired cuisine while overlooking the gorgeous savanna. The view of the animals roaming the savanna is simply breathtaking! Disney PhotoPass photographers are on hand to capture your memories during this adventure and at the end of the Tour you will receive a photo code that you can use to access and download images taken during your Wild Africa Trek experience. It's truly an amazing experience! Reservations can be made 180 days in advance of your Resort stay by calling (407) 939-8687. I recommend booking the first Tour of the day since the temperature is cooler in the mornings; there will be more animals out and about. (it will be cooler for you and your daughter as well)

Another special way to celebrate would be to book Ferrytale Wishes: A Fireworks Dessert Cruise. The Cruise takes place aboard the iconic General Joe Potter ferryboat. You'll enjoy a voyage full of delicious desserts, specialty beverages,(with and without alcohol) and a gorgeous view of the Wishes nighttime spectacular. Advanced Reservations are required and highly recommended and can be made by calling (407) 939-3463. Admission is $99 for adults and $69 for children ages 3 to 9 years old.

    Wishing You Many Magical Memories,
