I am planning a special 40th birthday trip for myself & husband for 9/6 - 9/10/12. Any suggestions for making this an extra special trip for a true Disney Nut?? I am looking to do things "off the beaten path" that many people may not even k

    Hi Jennifer!

I'll be celebrating my husband's 40th at Walt Disney World just a few days after you!
There are so many wonderful & unique things to experience beyond the parks, to make your trip extra special.

Consider a really special dining experience or one of many Behind-the-Scenes Tour Experiences.
A brand new & incredible tour to experience is the Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom. A great tour for a 'Disney Nut' would be the Keys to the Kingdom Tour which is open only to 'adult' guests & includes an unforgettable highlight - touring the Utilidor tunnel system. This tour is 3+ hours in duration. If you'd like to enjoy some SERIOUS behind the scenes magic, consider the amazing Backstage Magic tour. During a 6-8 hour guided tour of all 4 parks, you'll experience behind the scenes details & technology secrets as well as a tour of the Utilidor tunnel system beneath Magic Kingdom. Lunch is included on this adults only tour.

Dinner at California Grill on the Contemporary Resort's 15th Floor followed by Wishes fireworks display viewed from the outdoor observation deck, is a special experience I'd most highly recommend. You can also arrange a custom, Disney themed birthday cake to be delivered to your special dinner in advance by calling 407-827-2253. Many other 'Celebration' options are available.

Another simple yet enjoyable 'off the beaten path' plan would be to visit the Polynesian Resort one evening to watch the Electric Water Pageant and the fireworks over Cinderella Castle - all from the beach while you lounge in a chair or hammock! Consider Kona Cafe for dinner before you venture down to the beach.

I hope some of these Magical ideas are new to you and will make your husband's 40th extra special!
