Planning my sons 1st birthday wanted to know what are some great places to take him and where to stay (in a Disney resort) and fun things to do for the whole family.

    Hi Rachal,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Mickey and Minnie Mouse just adore celebrating birthdays at the Walt Disney World Resort!

First, consider which category of resort hotel your family might prefer. For my family, we consider our budget and the resort amenities. There are value, moderate, deluxe and deluxe villa resorts. We have stayed in moderate, deluxe and deluxe villa resorts. Our favorite resorts are those with access to the monorail - Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Next, review the Planning for Pre-School Kids and Little Ones Guide. This guide will help you decide which attractions might be appropriate for your son. Magic Kingdom has a ton of attractions for little ones. Our favorites are Dumbo the Flying Elephant, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Our girls still love these rides even though they are 10-years old. I also suggest that you try a few character experiences!

Rachal, last decide exactly how you will party on the actual birthday. I suggest that you dine at a character meal for his birthday and order one of the Mickey shaped Cakes at Walt Disney World Resort. You could also try ordering something special from Disney Floral & Gifts

Sending pixie dust as you celebrate one happy year of magical memories with your son!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
