I am planning a solo trip in the summer and want to park hop between Epcot and MK. I'll be staying at Pop! Which park do you suggest I visit first?

Hi Courtney, and welcome to planDisney!

I love this question! Like Moana, you are embarking on a solo journey, and there's just no telling how far you'll go or what adventures you'll have. I love doing solo days in the parks! So allow me to act as your Wayfinder and help point the way.

When it comes to which park to start in, there really isn't a wrong choice. As a Resort hotel Guest, you can take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry to experience some of your favorite attractions before the official opening. If Remy's Ratatouille Adventure or Frozen Ever After are high on your wish list, then EPCOT might be the best park to begin your day. On the other hand, if you're eager to check off Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Space Mountain early, then Magic Kingdom Park could be a better option.

I enjoy park hopping, and for me, the key question isn't usually where to start my day but rather where to end my evening. Both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom offer fantastic nighttime fireworks shows, each illuminating the night in unique ways. At EPCOT, you'll be treated to Luminous: The Symphony of Us, lighting up the World Showcase Lagoon while Spaceship Earth dazzles each night in a mesmerizing display; it's truly magical. At Magic Kingdom, you'll find what I believe to be the best fireworks show in all of Walt Disney World Resort: Happily Ever After. It's iconic, special, and one-of-a-kind. Not only do the fireworks beautifully complement the amazing soundtrack, but you'll also see castle projections and Tinker Bell flying through the sparkles near the grand finale—pure magic! Also, there's something truly special about experiencing Tiana's Bayou Adventure, TRON Lightcycle / Run, and Jungle Cruise after the sun sets.

So Courtney, as your planDisney Wayfinder, I wish I had a perfect answer one way or the other, but I'm pointing you in the direction of looking at all these options and following your heart to what calls most to you. And either way, a park hopping day between Magic Kingdom and EPCOT sounds like the perfect journey!
