I am planning a solo trip to Disney World. How would the family style restaurants work for a solo diner?

Hi Rachel! I’m so happy to welcome you to planDisney. Thank you for stopping by with your question! A solo trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth sounds simply amazing! You won’t have to worry about where anyone else wants to go or what they want to eat—it’s all about you with full main character energy, moving at your own pace. Get ready to channel your inner Moana and chart your own course!

This is a great question about solo dining at family-style restaurants. At these dining locations, you will still receive all of the dishes served in each course. Portions are determined based upon the number of guests dining in the party, so your server will simply bring you enough of each item for one person. You won’t miss any of the experience at all. It’s the same delicious line-up of dishes, just perfectly portioned for you! One of the things I love best about family-style dining is that, if there’s something you really love, just let your server know. They are always happy to bring you more! There are some dishes that I can’t help but ask for seconds!

If you haven’t already settled on your reservations, two of my favorite family-style dining locations are ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom. Both easily make my list of top ten dining spots across all of Walt Disney World Resort! ‘Ohana is perfect for a relaxed, island vibe and amazing flavors. Liberty Tree Tavern is like having your favorite holiday meal any time of the year!

Rachel, I hope you have an amazing visit! If you have any more questions, stop back by and see me here at planDisney. I’m always here to help and love adding extra pixie dust to your Disney vacation planning!

    Your pal,
