Hi I am planning to take my sister and family to Disneyland for the weekend of the 4th. I’ve been trying to contact Disneyland regarding faster fast passes? My sister has stage 4 cancer and has been in treatments so she can’t stand for long in lines.

Hi Kawika! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.

I'm so very sorry to hear about the challenges facing your sister at this time, and I completely understand wanting to make this experience as easy and magical as possible. I'm happy to walk you through how to add Lightning Lane Passes to your existing tickets if you haven't already, as well as share some other tips that will hopefully make for a smooth visit.

Lightning Lane Passes allow you to spend less time waiting in queues and more time focused on each other. It's my family's go-to choice of an add-on when we're visiting. If you didn't purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass as an add-on at the time of your admission ticket purchase, it's probably possible to add it now in the Disneyland mobile app. Simply pull up your tickets to see if you can "Change Ticket," choose the tickets you'd like to upgrade, and select "Choose Add-Ons." You'll want Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and then you should follow the prompts to purchase. Alternatively, you can call the Tickets phone line to speak with a friendly Cast Member, who can hopefully add it for you. Lightning Lane Multi Pass can be added after you enter the parks, also using the app, but its availability is limited and can sell out on popular days. Purchasing in advance is a great idea.

You'll be visiting over a popular weekend, so I understand being concerned that the traditional Lightning Lane offering might not be enough to ensure your sister's comfort. Let me suggest you make a visit to the Accessibility Services Kiosk in the Esplanade between the parks to explain your sister's current limitations to a Cast Member. They have lots of great recommendations for experiencing the parks in comfort, including accessing Attraction queues. Each situation is different, so a face-to-face conversation can be incredibly helpful.

You should also check out the Mobility Disabilities page, which has information intended for Guests currently experiencing mobility limitations. This page has resources, tools, and guides to help ensure your time exploring the parks is as easy as possible. I've visited the parks while experiencing a medical situation that made it difficult for me to be on my feet. It hadn't been in my plan to rent a wheelchair, but it ended up being the most convenient solution. It saved our vacation. ECVs and wheelchairs are available for daily rental near the entrance to Disneyland Park. On popular days, it is possible for them to sell out, so stop by early if you think your sister might benefit from having an alternate way around. There is a lot of walking during a Disneyland Resort vacation, and I'm often envious of those little ones in their strollers, so there's no shame in using a mobility device.

There are lots of pretty places to stop and enjoy the views and rest with a snack. Sometimes a visit to the parks doesn't mean hitting every Attraction. Enjoying Entertainment, Dining, and elite people watching can be a great way to experience the parks too.

All the best to your family. I hope you have a magical time.
