Hello there, Avinash! Welcome to planDisney!
Your cruise about the brand new
Disney Adventure is almost here! I’ve been keeping tabs on its maiden voyage on the
Disney Parks Blog, and there’s been some pretty cool activities featured on board! One that really stood out to me was the unique fireworks at sea show,
“The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky”. I’m so excited that you’ll get to watch it next month!
Since your cruise is in about a month, you should be getting ready to complete your Online Check-In. Therefore, yes, it’s a good time to be thinking about which method of payment you would like to use on board, as completing a
Payment Authorization Form will be a part of your Online Check-In process. As a reminder, you may complete your Online Check-In either on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App or Disney Cruise Line website, under “Already Booked” and then “Online Check-In”.
The way that
onboard payments work is that all charges made are part of a guest's stateroom folio. Essentially, it’s a receipt of all of your charges on board. When you’re making payments anywhere during your cruise, you won’t hand them a credit card or cash, but will pay instead with your Key to the World Card, so that the purchase can be added to your stateroom folio. This stateroom folio is paid using the method you indicated on your Payment Authorization Form. If you chose a credit or debit card, there’s nothing more you need to do, as the payment will be charged automatically. If you choose to pay in cash, you will need to visit the
Guest Services Desk to settle your cash account so that you can begin making charges to your stateroom folio.
Disney Cruise Line does accept debit cards as a form of payment. However, they recommend using a credit card over a debit card whenever possible, to avoid temporary holds on your debit card account. If you’re choosing to use a debit card, you will enter the debit card information in the Payment Authorization Form section during your Online Check-In.
Disney Cruise Line also accepts cash as a form of payment. All purchases are made in United States dollars (USD) across the entire fleet, including on board the Disney Adventure. Cash transactions are also rounded to the nearest dollar. As a reminder, to pay for your stateroom folio in cash and/or settle your onboard account, you should visit the Guest Services Desk.
Avinash, I hope I was able to provide you with clarification. I wish you the most beautiful memories on board your Disney Adventure cruise next month! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any more Disney cruise planning questions, because my Panelist friends and I are always happy to help.
Bon Voyage,
Rana
