Hi. We are planning a short notice trip to DW either the last of February or the first part of March 2013! What is the weather typically like at this time, will my son be able to go swimming? Also, how are the crowds? Thanks

    Hi, Elizabeth!

I love a last minute trip to Walt Disney World.  Getting packed up and heading to see Mickey Mouse is so exciting!

You can expect temperatures to be in the 70's.  Now for us northern folks escaping a cold winter, it will feel like a heat wave and I know my kids would definitely be jumping in the pool.  All the pools at Disney resorts are heated, so that will help.

When the sun goes down, it will feel a bit cool so make sure to bring along a sweatshirt or lightweight jacket for the evenings.

The last few days of February are usually a good time to visit Walt Disney World.  You are after the President's Day crowds and before the Spring Break crowds.  Even during slower times, you are going to see the shortest lines first thing in the morning so make sure to get an early start each day.  By mid-day, head back to your resort for a rest and a dip in that heated pool!    If you plan on any table service dining, make your dining reservations as soon as you secure your travel dates.

You are just about a month away from your big trip!  Let me know if you have any other travel questions as you plan your magical vacation.

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
