I am planning our second trip for late Dec 2011, 5 adults 2 kids. What would you say is the best choice for reservations, as far as hotel? We are planning on staying on property and using the dining plan.

    Rachel:

Because you did not say you were counting pennies for your vacation, I'd suggest considering a 2-bedroom villa so that you all can be together.
    • Bay Lake Tower tops my Wish List right now. Although I have not stayed overnight there, I toured its model and fell in love with the sleek styling that would be appropriate for the number of adults in your party. Whether you get a water view or a Magic Kingdom view, you'll be happy. It will take only a few minutes to take the sky bridge to the Contemporary resort for Chef Mickey's, California Grill or the Wave, not to mention one of my favorite counter-service restaurants: Contempo (for it's flatbreads). You also have access to the monorail that can whisk you to the Polynesian or Grand Floridian for dining.
    • Beach Club Villas: This tops my list for your crew. With views of the Boardwalk and proximity to restaurants on the dining plan at Yacht Club and Epcot, not to mention Cape May at Beach Club, this is my favorite resort area when I'm on the dining plan. If you have a park hopper ticket, who says you can't eat in a different country in Epcot every night?! And the 5-minute walk from your villa to the back gate of Epcot makes it a breeze. As an added bonus, even though it will be December, the ever-popular pool will be heated.
Additionally, the resorts in both the Magic Kingdom area and those near Epcot have lavish Christmas displays in their lobbies. You can literally spend two evenings exploring each area. You'll be right in the middle to do this!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
