Hello Moms. We are planning our second disney to in January 09. We have reservations at the Brown Derby 5:15. Never been there. How is the food, and do you think we could miss the fantasmic show.

Hi Melissa! The Brown Derby is a wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere is so nice that I found I forgot I was in a theme park!

In my experience the food was quite good. When I dined there a few weeks ago, the menu offered a wide range of entrees which included ahi tuna, duck, NY strip steak and chicken. The Cobb Salad is a signature item which they toss for you table side, and the dessert options include creme brulee and a Brown Derby original - grapefruit cake.

I checked the Fantasmic times for January and it seems that the show starts at 7:00 most nights. You might be cutting it close, but I think that you will probably be able to make the show. I would recommend arriving at the restaurant by 5:00, and you might get lucky and get to your table a few minutes early! I'm not sure if you booked the Fantasmic dining package, which would give you access to reserved seating inside the amphitheater. This would cut your wait time for the show considerably and more importantly guarantee you a decent seat. If you haven't booked the Fantasmic package, you could try calling Disney Dining to see if you could switch your reservation.

Even without the dining package, I think you will still make it to the show, but you may have a seat near the back. However, in my opinion, I don't think there are any "bad" seats in the amphitheater. You should have a pretty good view from just about anywhere!

Good luck! Enjoy your meal and the show!
