We are planning on scheduling a stay at Disney World in January 2022 and noticed that the Magical Express Bus option will no longer be available. We aren't planning on renting a vehicle. What Options will we have to get our family of 6 to the resort?

Hello and Welcome, Lisa! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

Lisa, earlier this year Walt Disney World did announce that they will be discontinuing the Magical Express starting January 2022. This announcement was actually quite a surprise to me as I know it's a service that a lot of people really like to use. This has left a lot of people unsure of how exactly to get to Walt Disney World now. No worries though, Lisa, because I know of a few options that just might work out for you and your family.

My favorite way to get from the airport to Walt Disney World has always been to use a ride-share service. This has always been, in my opinion, the quickest and most efficient way to get to the Walt Disney World Resort. Because you have a bigger family than I do, you may have to look into requesting a bigger car or call two vehicles to get you there.

Another option that I've seen chatter about is the company, Mears, that actually runs the shuttles for Walt Disney World is actually going to offer their own program now. It's called Mears Connect and they've said they will be servicing Walt Disney World starting at the beginning of next year. If you go to the Mears Connect website, you can sign up for emails to be notified when more information is available about this service.

Then, of course, you always have the option of hiring a car to take you to Walt Disney World from an outside provider. A quick Google search will pull up a number of companies with this option. You can choose from a town car, SUV and even a limo if your budget will allow it.

There really are a number of options that will get you from the airport to Walt Disney World and then back again. All of these options will, however, be an additional expense to you.

I hope one of these options will work out for you, Lisa. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to come back and ask me. I'm here to help!

    Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
