I am planning to run the Wine & Dine in October. What special things would you suggest we plan for our children while we are there? We have never been in October.

Hi Tammy!  October is one of my favorite months to be at Disney World! (but really, what time isn't great to be there?)  There are definitely some special things you can do with your kids during the Wine and Dine weekend.  One thing you can do is sign them up for the Kid's Races.  There are distances for every age (including a "diaper dash"!)  They will get a race bib, t-shirt, and medal.  These take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports, which is a great place to visit.  You will be going there for your packet pick-up anyway.
Another fun thing, which happens to be my boys' favorite thing, is the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.  This takes place at the Magic Kingdom.  There is a special parade and lots of "trick-or-treat" stops throughout the park.  This party requires a special admission ticket, so be sure and check out the link above for more information and event dates.  *A special tip:  If you have a ticket to the party (which usually begins at 7), they will actually let you into the park starting at 4 P.M.  This can be valuable if you aren't planning to be at the Magic Kingdom that day or if you don't have a park pass for that day.  Have a great trip and I hope to see you at the race!
