    I am planning to run the Disney Princess Half Marathon in 2014. What resorts do you recommend staying at for this event? Also, is there an area for family to meet the runners after the race is over? Last ?- do you recommend Jeff Galloway's runDisney plan?

    Hi Kim!

    The Princess Half Marathon is an awesome race!  You are going to love it!

    My favorite resort for the race is either the Boardwalk Inn Resort, the Beach Club Resort, or the Yacht Club Resort.  These are my favorite all the time, but especially for race weekends because you can walk back to your room after the race. (if you have a ticket into Epcot)  I love going back to my room to snooze for a bit, then putting my medal on and celebrating with a good meal at an Epcot restaurant.  Epcot is also my family's favorite park.

    Just be sure that you choose a host resort.  There will be host resorts in all three price categories. (value, moderate, and deluxe)  The host resorts provide free bus transportation to all of the race weekend events.  This is a huge benefit for runners!  Host resorts will be listed on the runDisney "travel" page closer to your race. 

    There is a place for runners to meet.  There are "family meeting areas" that are arranged alphabetically, so they would just meet you at the one that includes your last name. 

    I HIGHLY recommend the Galloway training plan.  I could never run such long distances if I didn't use his run/walk/run plan.  I don't always use the same interval amounts, but I always use his plan.  I credit the plan for keeping me injury-free.  It's also a great mental boost to have the walk breaks.  My times have gotten faster since I've started using his plan.
