I am planning to run the Disney Marathon. What hotel is closest to the start line?

Hi Cari!  The 20th anniversary Walt Disney World marathon is going to be so much fun!  There is a new course and awesome new medal!

During marathon weekend, ALL of the Disney World resorts are "host resorts".  The host resorts offer free bus transportation to and from all of the race weekend events.  (packet pick-up, expo, kids races, 5K, half marathon, and marathon)

Since the race begins in the Epcot parking area, the Epcot resorts are technically the closest.  These include Beach and Yacht Club, Boardwalk, and Swan and Dolphin. However, you will not be able to walk to the starting line from any of them.  Because of road closures and traffic, the bus rides from all resorts will be between 15 and 30 minutes.  So, I would just choose the resort that fits your budget and theme preference.  You can browse the Disney World resorts online.  Then, you can call 407-WDW-IRUN to book your package with the runner's discount that all race participants receive.

You can find more information about hotels and packages on the Walt Disney World marathon website.  Just click on "travel details".   And please feel free to ask me any other questions you may have!
